Why it matters

A tooth problem rarely stays small

A tooth that hurts

Throbbing, sensitivity, a sharp twinge when you bite. Your body is telling you something, and the sooner you listen, the more options you usually have.

A broken or cracked tooth

Some can be rebuilt with a crown. When one can't be saved, a single implant is the long term answer, and we'll tell you honestly which one you're looking at.

A missing tooth

Whether it came out last month or years ago, that gap changes how you chew, how you smile, and how you feel about both.

What happens when you wait

  • The teeth next to the gap slowly drift and tilt out of place.
  • Without a root to hold onto, the jawbone under a missing tooth starts to shrink.
  • Your bite shifts, and the teeth you have left end up doing extra work.

How a single implant works

A new tooth, built to last, in three steps

  1. 1

    The implant post

Dr. Jacob places a small titanium post in the jawbone, right where the root used to be.

  2. 2

    Healing

Over the next few months the bone grows around the post and holds it firmly in place.

  3. 3

    Abutment and custom crown

A small connector called an abutment goes on, then a custom crown made in our own lab, right here in the building, to match your natural teeth.

Your options

Implant, bridge, or partial denture

Each one has its place. Dr. Jacob will walk you through which makes sense for your mouth.

Who it is for

A single implant may be right for you if

  • You have one missing tooth, or a tooth that can't be saved.
  • You want a fixed tooth, not something you take out at night.
  • You'd rather not grind down healthy teeth next door.
  • You're in good general health and ready to fix it for good.

Not sure? That's exactly what the free consultation is for.

Meet your doctor

More than 30 years of implants. Still unhurried.

Dr. Thorpe A. Jacob, DDS

Dr. Jacob earned his doctorate in dentistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986. He then served as a U.S. Navy dental officer, treating Marines at Parris Island and MCAS Beaufort, including 18 months in the oral surgery department.

He placed his first dental implant in 1991 and trained in implant dentistry in the United States, Europe and South America. Since then he has completed about 2,500 full arches and mentored nine dentists in implant dentistry.

Dr. Jacob places and restores implants himself, so the doctor you meet at your consultation is the doctor who sees your tooth through to the end.

Common questions

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. Your consultation with Dr. Jacob and your 3D CBCT scan are both free, with no obligation to go ahead with anything.

Do you offer free implants or dental grants?

No. The consultation and scan are free, but treatment is not, and we don't offer grants or free implants. What we do offer is an honest plan in writing and financing through CareCredit, Proceed Finance and Cherry.

Can my tooth be saved instead?

Sometimes. If your tooth can be saved, Dr. Jacob will tell you so. If not, he'll show you why on your scan and explain what replacing it looks like.

Is an implant better than a bridge?

A bridge depends on shaving down the healthy teeth on either side. An implant stands on its own and leaves those teeth alone. Dr. Jacob will go over which makes sense for you.

How long does it take?

The post goes in during one visit, then the bone heals around it for a few months before your custom crown goes on. You'll get a timeline made for you at your consultation.

I get nervous at the dentist. Can you help?

Yes, and you're not alone. IV sedation is available with a board-certified anesthesiologist, and nobody here will rush you.

How much does a single implant cost?

Every mouth is different, so your written plan lays out every cost before anything starts. Financing is available through CareCredit, Proceed Finance and Cherry.

Who will I see?

Dr. Jacob. He places and restores implants himself, so you see the same doctor from your first visit to your final crown.

What happens after I fill out the form?

Our team reaches out by text or phone to find a consultation time that fits your schedule.
